After her passing, her parents, Bridget and Wesley Vaughn, will be presented with an honorary Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing on the Accelerated Track. This degree was awarded to her in her lifetime. Prior to that, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Louisiana Tech University, where she was a member of the Class of 2021.
We are here today to say goodbye to a remarkable person, Lauren Vaughn, and it is with heavy hearts that we do so. She was a cherished daughter, sister, friend, and part of the community in Louisiana, and her presence had an impact on the lives of a great number of people there. The unexpected passing of Lauren has created a vacuum that will be impossible to fill, but even as we grieve her loss, we celebrate the wonderful memories we shared with her and the positive influence she had while she was still with us.

I intend to maintain that standard, but I won’t allow it to define or frustrate me in any way.
