Blake Shelton & His Sister Share a Deep Bond after Their Sibling's Death

Blake Shelton had two siblings: sister Endy Intieri Shelton and brother Richie Shelton. Sadly, Richie passed away over three decades ago, leaving Blake with his sister Endy. Endy shared a nostalgic post on Instagram in 2020. Her post read:

Blake Shelton Was 14 When His Brother Died

Blake was just 14 years old when his brother Richie, who was 24 then, tragically died in a car crash in 1990. During the incident, Richie was in a car with his girlfriend, who was 20 years old, and her son. This event which left no survivors, changed Blake and his family, leaving them devastated.

In 2017, the singer took to Twitter and paid tribute to his brother's death anniversary. He realized that the experience made him understand the value of life and the importance of seizing the present moment.

The following year, he reflected on Richie's death again. Blake admitted thinking about Richie daily and that one never truly gets over such a loss. He described his brother as his role model and explained how his absence created a void in his life.

The tragic event inspired him to collaborate with his ex-wife, singer Miranda Lambert, on the song "Over You." Despite his brother's absence, the singer credits his extended family for shaping him into the person he is today.
